House Passes Generational Investments in Public Lands through Build Back Better Act

This morning, the House passed a package with major investments in public lands and climate. Public land enthusiasts and the outdoor community will benefit in a big way from Build Back Better.

The package still needs to pass the Senate, and there’s still a lot to do. You can help by sending your Senators a message asking them to invest in public lands, and as a bonus, you’ll be able to send your Representative a message thanking them for passing the bill if they voted yes:

Louis Geltman, Outdoor Alliance’s Policy Director said, “Outdoor Alliance is fired up to see the House pass these generational investments in public lands and climate. Climate change, decades of underfunding, fire suppression, and overdevelopment have severely taxed our public lands and waters, and Build Back Better makes serious, necessary investments while helping to pull back on some of the most egregious excesses of fossil fuel development. We’re grateful to House Democrats for passing the Build Back Better Act and recognizing the valuable role that public lands and waters must play in fighting climate change. The Senate must move purposefully to pass the package, as well.”
