In August, the Senate Energy and Natural Resources subcommittee on Public Lands, Forests, and Mining held hearings on a number of bills that would protect public lands and waters. Specifically, we shared our insight on four possible land protection bills:

  • S. 483, Wild Olympics Wilderness and Wild and Scenic Rivers Act

  • S. 1959, Central Coast Heritage Protection Act

  • S. 2809, Emery County Public Land Management Act

  • S. 2721, San Juan Mountains Wilderness Act

We are hopeful that by the end of the year or sooner, a package of recreation bills, including those heard in August, could get across the finish line. Click on the letter at right to read our full testimony on the hearings.
