Outdoor Alliance Submits Testimony to House Appropriations Subcommitte

Every year, Congress works on laws that fund the operations of the federal government, including federal agencies like the Forest Service and the National Park Service. Last week, Outdoor Alliance submitted testimony to the House of Representatives to help make sure all the federal land management agencies have enough money to take care of our mountains, rivers and forests and to make sure we can access these treasures in a sustainable way. Under-funded, over-worked land management agencies are more likely to restrict access and decrease the enjoyment of cherished lands and rivers. We hope the House can approve a budget that avoids this outcome.

In our comments, we support adequate funding for the Department of Interior and Department of Agriculture. Only with enough funds can the Forest Service, National Park Service, and Bureau of Land Management meet their goals of supporting recreation economies, engaging more kids in the outdoors, and protecting natural and recreational resources.
