2025 has been a rowdy year for outdoor advocacy.

From massive layoffs at the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, and other land management agencies to efforts to sell off millions of acres of public lands to the planned rollbacks of the Roadless Rule, there have been no shortage of threats to the public lands and waters we love.

Despite these headwinds, the outdoor community has stood up for public lands and waters like never before.

In 2025, Outdoor Alliance’s community sent more than 1.25 million messages to decision makers. You shared our maps—of proposed land sells offs, of Roadless areas, of beloved BLM lands—more than 4 million times. Our staff and partners had 274 meetings with lawmakers—more than one every working day.

You were an outdoor ally.

And the result of this outreach?

The swift defeat of land selloff proposals. A growing group of lawmakers willing to stand up for public lands and waters. New caucuses in both the House and Senate comprising both Republicans and Democrats who see public lands and waters as a priority. An administration sharing executive orders on protecting the outdoors.

But there are continued challenges on the horizon.

Monumental threats to National Forests and Bureau of Land Management lands—and we need your help to continue moving the needle for public lands.

In 2025, you made a difference in protecting public lands. And in 2026, we will need your help again.

Outdoor Alliance will stay on top of the world of outdoor policy in D.C. and continue to make it easy for you to take action when it matters most.

We need your support, now more than ever, to ensure that we can protect public lands.

Be an outdoor ally.
